Not sure if I am going down a rabbit hole for no reason, but I have one
Windows 7 64-bit computer that went through Startup Repair this morning.
User states that it was after rebooting to install updates. After repair
ran and it couldn't fix anything, they rebooted and it started up fine.

Finally got to look at the machine this afternoon and dism /get-package
/Online reports install dates that differ with what you see if you go
through Windows Update > View update history.

Example: KB2970228
Dism reports installed 10/20/14
Update history reports successful 10/16/14

KB2952664
Dism reports installed 10/20/14
Update history reports failed on 10/16/14

Just curious if anyone has seen this before and if it could be somehow
related to the Startup Repair issue.

Thank you,

It looks like Windows Updates is reporting when it was downloaded to be installed, but the actual DISM install didn’t happen until the machine was rebooted on 10/20.
